Happy Holidays!

From all the members of Flotilla 10-20 to all readers of this website, we wish everyone a Happy Hannukkah, Merry Christmas, and send out Best Wishes for a Joyous New Year.

VFR Chart Seminar Set

FOS-PS Fred Simmons has arranged for the VFR Chart (Sectionals to you and me) seminar to take place at the Red Cross building on Tuesday, January 30, 2007. This promises to be an informative event. Please contact Fred Simmons to sign up. Seating is very limited.

Get those AUXDATA Forms in!

The end of the year is nigh, and right after that is the AUXDATA entry deadline for awards and accounting. Most of us have an extended Christmas weekend coming up. If you have not done so, take a few hours this weekend to make certain all of your 7030s up to that date have already been sent to Peter Perfetti, our FSO-IS. Peter prefers that you file the forms electronically, but regular mail is still acceptable, but you must act fast.

On January 1, make out any remaining forms for 2006 and send them in to Peter no later than the Second of January. This includes missions up to and including 31-December. You may start sending in 2007 forms also, but they will not, in al likelyhood, get processed until all of the 2006 forms are taken care of.

Handing in the forms at the January 11 Flotilla Meeting will be too late!

Remember, you don't submit the forms just to blow your own horn. The USCG uses the data on the forms to allocate money to the Auxiliary. Also, if you had any trainees with you they are depending on your prompt submission of the forms for their eventual qualifications. You can have 100 hours showing in NETSKEDS, but if you don't have 10 in AUXDATA, you will not get that qualification.

Joint Aviation Flotillas Change of Watch

Once again, Air Station Lincoln Park and Aux Air Station Caldwell will be having a joint Change of Watch dinner dance at Season's retaurant in Washington Township, NJ. The event last year was an elegant time, with many special guests from the Auxiliary and Active Duty. Once more, we have secured a good menu, and it will be a wonderful time. The cost per person is $65.00. Please make checks payable to "USCG Aux Flotilla 10-1" (not to 10-20!!!), and mail them to John Barteluce. John's information is in NETSKEDS. I hope to see you there!

January Meetings

Please take note that there will be a January Flotilla Meeting at the Red Cross on January 11, 2007. I would like to see as many members as possible out there, as your bridge has quite a few people to honor for their service to the Flotilla in 2006. Uniform of the Day is Tropical Blue Long. Officers need to be in uniform, as we will be taking official photos for the website.

New 2007 Staff Officers: There will be a meeting of the 2007 Staff Officers and elected Bridge at the offices of Jenny Engineering on January 4, 2007 to discuss the year's plans.

2007 Flotilla Officers

The 2007 Flotilla Staff Officers have been chosen. I want to personally thank everyone who stepped up to take on a leadership position in the Flotilla. The 2007 Staff can be seen at this link, until it becomes official on January 1.

December Meeting a Success!

Our Devember Holiday Meeting at the Versailles diner was a great success. We had participation from many of our members, as well as members of Flotilla 10-1. Many members brought friends and family, and all had a wonderful time. Kudos to Fred Simmons for arranging a simple, affordable evening.

Electronic Ordering from UDC

Now you can order uniform items from the USCG's Uniform Distribution Center via the world wide web. Point your browser to: http://webstore2.techgap.com/uscgudc/login.jsp?client=uscgudc. You will need to register and set up your own login and password. It is fast, and easy.

Last Call for Dues!

There are still a few of you out there who have not paid your 2007 dues. If your 2007 dues is not received by November 29, you will be disenrolled! Letters have been mailed, e-mails sent, and even some phone calls made. Don't let this slip by.

Flotilla Elections

At the November meeting, Flotilla 10-20 re-elected Flotilla Commander Larry West and Vice Flotilla Commander Judi DiMaio to a second Term. We are honored to be chosen to lead Flotilla 10-20 for another year.

December Holiday Meeting

10-20 Members,

The time has come for our annual Holiday meeting. This year, we have something special in store for everyone. As usual, please bring along your friends and family who are not members. We are sure they will have a great time.

For the low price of just $19.00 per person, Personnel Services Staff Officer Fred Simmons has arranged for a nice dinner at the Versailles Diner, on Fairfield Road in Fairfield. Just east of the Red Cross building where we meet.

The price includes salad, soft drinks, entree and dessert. There is a bar at the diner, where you may purchase any alcoholic drinks you wish.

As an added bonus, any and all members of Flotilla 10-20 who are paid up with their 2007 Dues, will be admitted free of charge! This applies ONLY to 10-20 members, not spouses, friends, guests, etc.

Please note: Your 2007 Dues MUST BE PAID by November 29! No dues payments accepted at the door!

The Uniform of the day for Flotilla Officers (and anyone else contacted directly by the FC) is Tropical Blue Long. For anyone else, including members, Civilian casual is perfectly fine. The reason for Officers to be in Uniform is our Special Guest will be Director of Auxiliary Commander Elizabeth Young, who will have some presentations for some members.

This all happens on Thursday, December 14th, at 1930 hours.

Please contact myself, or Fred Simmons for any other details. Also, please contact Fred to RSVP with how many people you will be bringing We need a head count!

I look forward to seeing you there!

Larry West

Flotilla Commander

Division 10 Change of Watch

the Division 10 Change of watch will be held Sunday, December 10, 2006, at 1230 hours at the Bacari Grille, 800 Ridgewood Road, Washington Twp., NJ 07676. Cost per person is $45.00. Air Station Cape Cod

On July 15, AuxAir members from around the district converged on Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod for mandatory annual training, fun and fellowship. If you missed this one, make sure you do not miss the next one in the fall. These gatherings are a great experience, and you will enjoy it.

AuxAir members sit down to lunch in the wardroom.

In appreciation for all he does as the Auxiliary Liason Officer at the Cape, Flotilla Commander Larry West presented Lieutenant Dave Aldous with a t-shirt and cap from Aux Air Staton Caldwell. Click on the photo for another picture.
