New Meeting Space ?

Immediate Past Flotilla Commander (IPFC) Bob Jenny has worked out an arrangement with the Essex County Improvment Authority (ECIA) and the Airport Manager to use a break room near the Airport Manager's Office for our meetings. We fully intend to be in this space for our August 11 meeting. It is very easy to get to. From our present meeting location, drive toward the control tower, and follow the road to the left. Continue all the way down this road, past Mac Dan Operations, past the T-hangars, past Mac Dan's flight school. Follow the road around the tiedown area, past the trailers, and past the last building on the right. This is where the new meeting room is. Park in the lot beyond the building, and enter through the door on that side.

The plan is to hold one or more meetings here to see how we like it, and if it will accomodate our needs. The air is cool in summer & warm in winter, and there is always someone to open it up for us. Currently, it is used as a break room and lounge for the ambulance crew. Please come to see the space and let us know what you think.

We have prepared some photos and layouts of the room below.

Diagram of the space as it is arranged today

This layout shows the room as it is today. The doors are shown hinged on the wrong side, though. Yes, that is a kitchen on the right! The door to the right goes into the men's locker room/rest room. The door to the bottom goes into the main equipment area of the building.

This is the proposed meeting arrangement. Seating for 39. We'll see how it works out.

New Space Northeast end

Here is a view of the Northeast end of the room. That door goes out into the garage area.

New Space Southwest end

Here is a view of the Southwest end of the room. That door goes out into the locker room/men's rest room area.

It's not as large as we'd hoped, but it should do well. We will have to see what we can work out for the long-term. Right now, the Airport Authority will move the sofas, etc. out of the room, and provide us with chairse we can set up, so we will see how well that works. If it does not, perhaps we can locate a different space somewhere.

The best possible place would be one that we have exclusive use of, and can decorate as we see fit. 10-20 has a lot of awards that really should be hanging from a wall for all to see.
